Desperate Measures

Correction: in researching for our second story on St. Frances of Rome, we learned that this story takes place before the birth of her first child. St. Frances did not see this guardian angel that slapped her, but she knew who he was. After the death of her second son, years later, was she given the grace of seeing her guardian angel.

The statue of St. Frances of Rome with her guardian angel in St. Peter’s Basilica. This basilica is lined with massive statues of the founders of religious orders. St. Frances founded a very small order named the Oblates of St. Frances of Rome

St. Agnes in Agony on the Piazza Navona, St. Frances’ childhood parish, where she was baptized and confirmed. The baptismal font in which she was baptized is in a lower level. Unfortunately, pictures are prohibited in the church, and we could not find any pictures of the font online.
